Published guidance

Debit ≠ credit

Refund processing · original card credited

PayPal’s US guidance says debit refunds generally complete within 5 business days, sometimes up to 30 days. Credit card refunds can take 1–2 billing cycles to appear.

What can change the wait

  • This is US card-refund guidance. Split-payment and other refund paths differ.
  • A refund marked sent can still be processing at your card issuer or bank. The tracker stage matters.
