Google AdSense site review checklist

Before you press Request review, separate site readiness from review duration. Confirm that Google can verify and reach the site, the required account tasks are complete, and the whole site is ready for a policy review.

Direct answer

Before you request review

Complete the required account setup tasks, connect the exact site you control, make it publicly reachable without a password, and review the full site for substantial, original content and clear navigation. Then verify the connection and request review once. This checklist improves readiness; it does not predict approval or shorten Google’s queue.

Six checks before submission

Clear the setup gates before starting the clock

A connection problem, an unfinished account task, and an active site review are different states. Treating them as one wait makes both troubleshooting and timing comparisons unreliable.

01

Finish the account tasks first

Complete the required account setup tasks shown on the AdSense homepage before requesting review.

Google says an incomplete setup can leave a site in Getting ready without the site review starting.

02

Use the correct site and verification method

Add the exact site you control, then use an accepted ownership method such as the AdSense code, an ads.txt entry, or a meta tag where Google supports it.

Ownership verification and the policy review are separate gates. Passing the first does not predict the second.

03

Make the site reachable

Confirm the site is live, uses the correct URL, is publicly reachable without a password, and does not block the AdSense crawler.

Google cannot review a site it cannot reach. A connection problem is different from a slow review.

04

Place the connection signal on a real page

Install the selected connection signal exactly as Google describes and keep it on a live page with content that receives regular views.

Google identifies missing or incomplete code as a common connection issue and specifically calls out pages without regular views.

05

Review the whole site, not one landing page

Use substantial, original content and clear navigation across a complete site rather than an unfinished template or a page built mainly around the AdSense code.

Google says it reviews the entire site and lists insufficient content, content quality, and navigation among common reasons a site is not approved.

06

Check policy readiness

Review the AdSense Program policies and resolve known content, traffic-source, language, and user-experience issues before submitting.

A technically connected site can still receive Needs attention when the broader site does not meet the review requirements.

After you request review

Watch the state without restarting the process

  1. Confirm the status in Sites

Use the AdSense Sites list as the source of truth for whether the site requires review, needs attention, is getting ready, or is ready.

  2. Do not reset an active review

If the site is Getting ready, Google says removing and resubmitting it can delay the process.

  3. Separate readiness from duration

This checklist helps distinguish setup problems from an active review. It does not predict approval or shorten Google’s queue.

Process boundary

This is a site-review checklist

It covers preparing a site for the AdSense review that ends with a first site verdict. It does not cover identity checks, payment verification, address or PIN delivery, policy appeals, ad-serving limits, Google Ads campaign review, or the time until ads begin earning.

A first verdict can be Ready, Needs attention, or another action-needed outcome. It is not automatically an approval, and this page does not estimate the probability of any outcome.

Ready to start the real interval?

Record the submission date, then the first verdict.

A private tracker keeps the start, the unfinished wait, and the eventual outcome separate from Google’s published range and WaitGraph’s limited founder observation.
