How long does the first Stripe payout take?

First payout only

Published guidance

Usually 7–14 days

First customer payment · initial payout schedule

Stripe typically schedules the first payout 7–14 days after your first successful customer payment. This is the initial payout window, not a promise that the money will be in your bank by day 14.

Common questions about this wait

Can Stripe waive the first-payout waiting period?

Stripe says the initial risk-related waiting period cannot be waived. Changing the payout method or schedule during it takes effect after the period ends. Your Dashboard estimate is more useful than counting from account creation.

Why does my payout date keep getting pushed back?

Stripe identifies unfinished account verification as a likely reason for repeated postponement. Check Dashboard notices and email for outstanding requirements. A changed date alone cannot tell WaitGraph what is happening in your account.

Stripe sent the payout, but my bank has not received it. What next?

Check the payout’s destination account and expected post date. Stripe notes that bank processing can be delayed by weekends and holidays. Its missing-payout instructions use a separate five-business-day bank follow-up window, not five days from your first customer payment. Use the linked guide for your payout stage and account type; the trace ID can help your bank find the transfer.

Does the 7–14-day first-payout range apply everywhere?

No. Stripe says country and industry risk can extend it, including up to 30 days in countries such as Brazil. Later payouts follow your account’s payout schedule. Do not use the first-payout range for every transfer.

What can change the wait

  • Country, industry risk, verification and bank delays can extend the wait beyond this range.
  • Later payouts follow a different schedule. Do not reuse the first-payout window for every payment.
